Malcolm X
1925 – 1965
Born Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska. National spokesman for the Nation of Islam from 1952 to 1964. Founded the Organization of Afro-American Unity in 1964. His Autobiography, written with Alex Haley, is one of the foundational texts of 20th-century American literature. Assassinated in Harlem on February 21, 1965.
